There are 2 sections to The Theory Test. Multiple Choice The Theory Test pass mark is 86%, so you'll need to answer 43 out of 50 multiple choice questions correctly to pass. The questions will cover topics that include, safety, road signs, attitude to driving and much more. Hazard perception section involves reacting (clicking) to video clips. In order to pass the hazard perception test, you must get at least 44 points out of a maximum of 75. Each hazard on the videos has a maximum of five points allocated to it, The amount of points you receive depends on the timing you spot the hazard, in the clip. . You need to pass both parts to pass the theory test. (Both must be passed at the same time/same test) There will need be some revision involved (which I will help you with). You can find books, mobile apps and websites that can help with your preparation.

The driving test will typically last 45mins and will cover. An eye sight test (reading a number plate from 20metres). 'Show Me' Tell Me' Questions. At least 1 reversing manoeuvre. (Reverse bay park, pull over on the right and reverse, reversing out of a bay, or a parallel park) An emergency (controlled) stop may be carried out. (1 in 3 tests) You will be asked to pull over and stop at least 4 times (usually more) An independent drive either following road signs or a sat nav. General drive testing your ability to drive unaided on all kinds of roads and speed limits. You are allowed 15 minor driving faults but no serious or dangerous faults. (3 minors for the same fault usually result in a serious). You will be fully prepared for your test throughout your lessons, and will be tested with mock tests prior to your test. The test centre I use is Trowbridge. The driving test is carried out by an examiner at an additional cost, payable to the DVLA.
